Spiritual Care
Spirit Renewal Ministries offers spiritual care and pastoral counselling services to clergy, elders, leaders and individuals who need confidential pastoral assistance and support at challenging junctures. In particular, many clergy face undue stress in the workplace, which can lead to increased anxiety, loss of work time, and stability. Churches can be stressful places to work. The winter 1996 issue of Leadership, a national survey of Protestant clergy that revealed 23% of ministers report they have been fired at least once, and 43% said that a faction (usually fewer than 10 persons) forced them to resign.
Stephen's pastoral skills, as well as his expertise in crisis intervention, team building, and leadership development can assist church leaders as they seek to address issues affecting their ministry and well being. Stephen has obtained specialized training in crisis and grief counselling. Stephen has specialized training in chaplaincy, and he is a certified MBTI professional, with additional training as noted below:
